LA Galaxy edged New York Red Bulls 2-1 to win their first MLS Cup title in a decade and extend their all-time winning streak to six, the most in the country.
The Galaxy finished the regular season in fourth place, earning a spot in the final at home due to their better standing in the standings over the Eastern Conference champions.
On Saturday, the Galaxy, led by Greg Vanney, took the lead eight minutes into the game through Josep Paintsil. Dejan Joveljic then added a
goal from Sean Neelis just before halftime. Winger Emil Forsberg hit the post in the second half, as did Galaxy right-back Mikie Yamane. The Galaxy
